Privacy.

Calculiva has no accounts and no forms. The measurements you type are calculated in your browser and are never sent to us or to anyone else. Printouts, CSV files and SVG drawings are produced on your device.

Stored in your browser

This site writes two entries to your browser's local storage:

• calculiva-theme remembers whether you chose the light or the dark theme.
• calculiva-home-v2 remembers the settings of the small demo on the home page.

Neither leaves your device. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes both. Where Google Analytics loads, it also sets its own cookies, described in the next section.

Google Analytics, and when it never loads

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages people use. It is requested only on calculiva.com, only after the page has finished loading, and not at all when your browser asks sites to save data. When it does load, your browser sends Google the address of the page and your IP address, and Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit from another. Google describes what it does with that information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Google Analytics is not loaded at all in two cases:

• Your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. We read that signal as a request not to be measured, and nothing is requested from Google.
• Your device's time zone is European. That means every Europe/… zone, the United Kingdom included, plus the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores, Iceland, Ceuta, Cyprus, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint Martin, Réunion and Mayotte, and the older zone names WET, CET, MET and EET.

In those two cases there is nothing to accept or refuse, which is why this site shows no cookie banner. The time zone is read by a script running in your browser; that check sends it nowhere. It is a setting, not a location: a traveler whose device keeps a European zone is not measured, and a visitor in Europe whose device uses another zone is.

Everywhere else you can still block measurement with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by turning on Global Privacy Control, or with your browser's tracking protection. Every calculator works the same without it.

Hosting

The site is served by Vercel. Like any web server, it receives the technical data that comes with every request, such as your IP address and the page asked for. See the Vercel Privacy Notice.

Advertising

No advertising network is active. The spaces reserved for advertising are empty and hidden. Before any network is switched on, this page will be rewritten to describe what it loads and what choices it gives you.
